9 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking

The Uganda gorilla trek safari takes you the Kibale forest a home to 13 primates and birds which include the chimps for chimpanzee trekking, white and black Columbus, vervet monkey, manageably, sitatungas, rare shoe bills found at the Bigodi walking trail. Visit to the queen Elizabeth national park famously known for the tree climbing lions in Africa, game drive for wildlife viewing, boat cruise along the Kazinga channel which connects the Ramsar Lake George to Lake Edward and end the trip with the visit to Bwindi forest for Uganda gorilla trek in their mist!

Day1: Entebbe-Queen Elizabeth National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, meet our driver/guide. Set off on the southern Uganda on your way view the royal drum makers; en-route stop at the Equator for photographs. Continue to the park via escarpment overlooking the Great Rift Valley. If time available visit the Katwe salt mining centre to experience the salt mining and unforgettable bird watching as the sun is setting off. Dinner and overnight at Mweya lodge/Jacana lodge/Katara lodge/Hippo hill/Enganzi lodge. Meal plan: H/B

Day2: Game drive & Boat ride

After breakfast go for an early morning game drive along Kasenyi tracks and Queens mile in the park and expect to see lions, elephants, cape buffalos, warthogs, spotted hyenas, mongoose, waterbucks, Kobs and, if lucky, the leopard, plus a lot of small animals and birds. Return to the lodge for lunch and after spend an evening enjoying the boat cruise along the channel which connects the Ramsar Lake George to Lake Edward, this cruise act as panoramic platform for wildlife and bird viewing along the shores of Kazinga channel. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight, Meal plan: F/B

Day3: Kyambura gorge chimp walk-Maramagambo forest

Have breakfast, drive to Kyambura gorge for the unforgettable chimpanzee walk in the gorge. The gorge also provide other primates and birds like the white and black Columbus, vervet monkeys, warbler, Turaco, casket horn bills. Return to lodge for lunch and after embark our safari vehicle drive back to Maramagambo forest for the nature walk to spot variety of birds and other primates. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight, Meal plan: F/B

Day4: Queen-Bwindi Forest

Dawn game drive at the Kasenyi plains in search for wildlife which includes Buffalos, Kobs, Warthogs, Elephants, Waterbucks, Lions, Hyenas, and if you are lucky leopards among others. After the game drive that takes about 3-4 hours, return to lodge for breakfast and thereafter drive to Bwindi through Ishasha sector where tree climbing lions can be seen according to the luck of the day, with lunch en-route (packed) and drive to Bwindi for dinner and overnight at Gorilla forest camp/Buhoma lodge/Mahogany springs/Buhoma community Rest Camp. Meal plan: F/B

Day5: Uganda gorilla trekking

Have breakfast, we shall have a briefing by the park rangers about gorilla tracking rules prior to our transfer to the impenetrable forest. We shall go with our packed lunch boxes. The rainforest is spectacular as it offers dramatic, heavily forested and dense landscape. The time taken and terrain varies according to the movements of these marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time with and observing the gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure. On finding the gorillas, you will spend one hour with them and have a chance of taking some pictures. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, Meal plan: F/B

Day6: Second Gorilla Tracking

Have breakfast, we shall have a briefing by the park rangers about gorilla tracking rules prior to our transfer to the impenetrable forest. We go for the second time to track another group of gorillas with our packed lunch boxes. The rainforest is spectacular as it offers dramatic, heavily forested and dense landscape. Day7: Bwindi-Kisoro

Breakfast, drive to Mgahinga Gorilla Park, brief stops at places of interest including Kanaba Gap to view the dramatic Virunga volcanoes and beautiful terraced hills. You can either continue directly to Mgahinga, or make a detour to Lake Mutanda. Dinner and overnight at Mount Gahinga lodge, Meal plan: F/B

Day 8: Mgahinga hiking

Breakfast, this time in Mgahinga on the northern side of the Virunga mountains, take climb the Muhavura or Gahinga volcano, or go for a nature walk. Mount Gahinga Lodge at 2,300m nestles in the shadow of the dramatic Virunga volcanoes. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight, Meal plan: F/B

Day9: Departure-Kampala

Have breakfast, after embark our safari vehicle and drive back to Kampala with lunch en-route, stop at the equator for souvenirs’ and curious shopping to take home. Drive at the airport for your return flight back home. Meal plan: H/B-End of services.
